As September’s around the corner, there are floods of rumors and leaked info for the new iPad mini, although evidence shows Apple fanboys are more interested in the iPhone 5 than the iPad mini. Well, some possible news of the appearance of the iPad mini popped up from 9to5mac that every Apple fiend can hardly ignore.
9to5mac illustrated that iPad Mini will look like a large iPod Touch(not iPad) with thinner bezels on the left and right side. I know what you think. It’s not an iPhone or iPod touch that can be held with one hand. Thinner bezel means less space for resting your hands on the sides on the portrait mode. Of course, it won’t effect the landscape mode.
On the other hand, this may lead a thinner and slimmer iPad. Consider the lack of Retina Display and the fatty battery, it may be super thin. You can easily see it through the leaked mockup pictures showing above.
And John Gruber, who is close to apple, has the same view. He indicates the new device may not be housed in similar proportions—and the change in device size would result in shaving the bezel on the sides of the device.
The iPad mini is predicted to price at either $200 or $299 and may roll out in this Autumn. But all the info above is still under speculation. Let’s wait more info to come. Feel free to tell us what you think about it.

I’m incredibly excited for the new iPad Mini to come out. I have been hearing rumors everywhere from coworkers at Dish about it for a few weeks now and it’s got me incredibly interested. I have had my iPad for about a year, and I can’t imagine leaving home without it, but it would be amazing to have a smaller, easier to carry iPad outside of the home. I love to watch football games through my DVR and Sling Adapter on the Dish Remote Access app when I’m not able to be home to watch them, and having a more portable device would definitely help that. Hopefully we actually hear something from Apple directly about it next month!
I can’t agree more. I like this idea as a cheaper iPad will make more people available, although it may be hard to keep it as cool as iPad 2/3 is.
